Blind Zen

What is Blind Zen all about?

I started contacted Stefan many years ago about his work with Blind people and the Martial Arts. I now feel that the time has come to share this work with you all on this page.

The only problem I have with Blindness and the Martial Arts is the term "Legally Blind". I have even in the UK come across, and even heard of people caling themselves Blind and yet sit reading a newspaper etc. I could site more examples but one must be careful because, eye sight is a complicated subject owing to the many eye problems that can develop.

My personal belief I must stress my own view is that one is only truely blind if you cannot see at all and partly sighted or so called these days visually impaired if you have some sight.

It is my personal experience that to have no sight at all is an advantge because having some sight could lead t problems such as judging distance. I have herd of some people who train in Tai Kwan Do who wear bright colours to help tem see targets etc.

Italso could be argued that having some little sight could be dangerous as bad judgement could be made and serious injuries could occur.

Having said all that we are all classed in the same boat so, we must support each other but, I think also that one must be very honest about one's visual setup.

The link to Stefan's website will be at the bottom ot this page and I hope that you will all be interested in reading about the Blind and their Martial Arts.....!

This I hope will show that I am Not the only one.
